I’m excited to have another kick-ass saleswoman on board today, Caitlin Doemner. Caitlin is one of my sales trainers who I absolutely love! I recently completed her Referrals on Demand class, which was fabulous for so many reasons! I'm always excited when I find another woman who's really good at sales, which is why I had her as my feature guest on a recent episode of my podcast.

Meet Caitlin Doemner

After receiving her MBA from Biola University, Caitlin Doemner launched a sales management company. Working with some of the most prestigious coaches in their industries, including Deepak Chopra, Ali Brown, Mastin Kipp, and Fabienne Fredrickson, Caitlin has generated over $11M in new revenue for its clients in eight years. In addition, she has closed over $2.5M in coaching services in less than 12 months.

She is the author of multiple books, including “The Unseen Sales Machine” and “Sell with Heart.” After realizing the coaching industry needed more transparency, she launched BookofExperts.com and BookofExperts.TV - two referral networks and a media company that gives transformational leaders such as coaches and consultants more visibility and consistent referrals.

Changing Your Mindset and Transformation

She emphasizes that to change your mindset, you’ll need to make space in your thought process. “When you are holding sacred space for transformation,  the act of selling is changing their life and you guys need to own that at a gut level.”

Listen in to find out why Caitlin chose sales for a career, how phone calls work better to close deals, and why you need to change your fear mindset.

You’ll also learn:

  • How to charge what you’re worth for your services

I'm very appreciative of my longtime listeners and I'm also grateful for those who have been around since 2010 when I started this entire journey! This episode is a thank-you to all my followers who have joined me in their financial and business journey!

The Amanda Abella Story

I started the Making Money Your Honey podcast in 2016 and decided to name the podcast after my book. When I started, I had no idea what I was doing. I saw that podcasts were popular in the financial space and thought podcasting sounded like fun. I got everything set up over the weekend.

Many of my followers have ideas that you don't execute. People tend to procrastinate by taking too much time to weigh the pros and the cons. My team will tell you; I don't think I execute.

I used to suffer from shiny object syndrome back in 2016. I'm going to change everything on a dime because so-and-so did this thing. At this point, the wheels started to fall off for me. At that time, I'd been freelance writing for about six years. I'd made a name for myself in the financial space. It was pretty easy for me to get gigs.

I was starting to make good money when I realized I was meant for bigger things. It was beginning to feel like I lost my reason for writing. In addition, my wrists started hurting badly, and I didn't want to get carpal tunnel syndrome.

Listen in to my story and how I started out working as a content writer and transitioned into my seven-figure business. In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • Business Advice and Lessons for Small Business Owners
  • Pivoting in Business
  • How to un-complicate Your Business Plan
  • Focusing on Mastering the Skill Set
  • Working to Achieve What You Manifest in Life and Business

Michael Anthony talks about how to commit to business success when you’re an entrepreneur. We also chat about his new book, Unbroken. Michael and I met at the 10 X sales execution workshop in Miami a few weeks ago at Grant Cardone's office. He's genuinely a good and real expert on finances. Michael enjoys knocking down the walls of financial challenges and helping people understand what it means to step into entrepreneurship and business owners in life. Michael shares his financial wisdom with us; you'll love what he has to say, so read on!

Meet Michael Anthony

Michael landed a job with a Fortune 10 company with no high school education. They handed him his high school diploma. His first paycheck was for $10,000. Fast forward several years, he's built his second legal business. Several years later, he found himself at 350 pounds and smoking two packs of cigarettes a day and drinking. "I put a gun in my mouth because I didn't understand the impact of the abuse that I went through."

Even though there's been so much chaos in his life, he’s also experienced good things, which leads to his why. “What I do now is about impacting people's lives, helping them understand that they can be the hero of their own story.”

Michael’s Money Mindset

Although you can use the money to serve yourself and others, you also want to be safe and protect yourself by having a cushion of savings in the bank. Outside of your expenses, use your "extra" money that is prime for investing. “You take your resources and invest in yourself and you’ll never lose.” Michael invests more money in himself than those who have Ivy League degrees. He understands the value of reciprocity with spending money and bets on himself first.

Listen in to find out Michael’s amazing backstory, how he restructured his money mindset and how he uses his trauma to help others. In addition, you’ll learn:

  • How trauma plays into decision-making for Michael
  • Steps for overcoming trauma

Fellow financial coach, Lisa, joins me in a deep dive pm ways to double your business revenue in 10 to 12 weeks.

The purpose of a business is to bring in new money every single day.

The problem many people have is they don't have suitable structures in place to make sure they can bring in money. So they need to make an impact every single day if they want to bring in money daily. If you’re not making a move toward your revenue goal daily, then you’ll need to start at square one.

Sales Equate to Revenue Which Brings More Options

I believe that women make great salespeople once they understand the world of sales. And if you own a business, make no mistake, you are in sales.

I recently announced to my team that I'm not working Fridays. I'm not working Fridays anymore because I don't want to, and I don't have to because I'm making enough money to work a four-day workweek. Money equals options; revenue equals options.

Money gives you options, so we need to get clear about how to bring money and revenue into your business. In addition, money brings security. That's especially important for women who feel dependent on a partner for income. Learning how to sell and make money gives you the ability to create for yourself. In turn, this lessens your financial dependence on others.

Listen in to find out how to increase your business revenue by changing your money mindset and how to get clear and set new business goals. We also discuss:

  • How to think like a female executive
  • Becoming the Huntress in sales
  • Shifting to a scalable business model
  • The three components to creating more sales

"I grew up in a town where everybody knew everybody else."

He now resides in small Ohio town with his wife of 40 years, Katie. "We found our dream house here 20 years ago. It’s a long way from where I started."

Today we’ll talk about his work and his new book - The Genius Zone - and it's fantastic. Listen in to find out more about Gay and what you can expect from his new book!

“You can think of an upper limit problem like an allergy. You get to a certain place in your life, and it knocks you out of the space you were in.” he relates to the upper limit to a glass ceiling that you can’t see but need to move past. “Even though the original barrier may have been there from when you were a child, those moments put a crimp in our ability to access and feel the flow of our organic creative genius.”

Gay Hendricks New Book: The Genius Zone

His new book, The Genius Zone, is about the giant leap. In his book, Dr. Hendricks shows you how to jump into your genius zone and how to live and make your home there. "I think it's really the only satisfying, true home. Even if you live in a dream house, like I do it wouldn't be home unless I was in my genius too."

Today we're talking about how to break the cycle of perfectionism in sales. We're going to talk about mindset, particularly how to overcome perfectionism in sales.

Why Perfectionism Equates to Lost Sales

So many times, I see my women business clients feel the pressure of overworking, overdoing, and going out of their way to create a “perfect” outcome when achieving perfection is a fallacy.

Instead of having perfection as a goal, you need to look at your skillset, how you are going to sell, and the steps for sales follow-up. Understand that when you seek perfectionism, this is only hijacking your efforts to achieve your monetary and business goals and putting you on a one-way street for burnout.

Listen in to find out how to find happiness in your work, how to know if you’re overdelivering, and why you’re not responsible for other people’s feelings. In this episode, I dive into ways to overcome perfectionism, including:

How perfectionism can get in the way of closing a sale
Why you shouldn’t wear perfectionism as a badge of honor

In my Persuade to Profit class, I see many business owners making these same ten mistakes repeatedly. Learn which ten mistakes are most common and how you can turn these around to increase your sales and skyrocket your company’s profits.

Ten Biggest Sales Mistakes to Avoid

I want you to keep an open mind because sales will connect the dots for you. One of the biggest challenges my clients face is playing into the wrong mindset about sales and money. Sales are not inherent to us - it’s a skill that must be learned and practiced daily. Without sales training and understanding how to follow up on sales, you won’t be able to thrive in your business.

Listen in to find out the importance of knowing your audience, why you should ask for more money, and why you shouldn’t rely on your coaching certifications to get clients.

In this episode, I dive into ten mistakes I often see in sales companies, including:

  • Making the mistake of waiting for leads to come to you
  • Having imposter syndrome
  • Selling your product or service at a lower price
  • Not having the proper business structure

I recently had a chat with Belinda Rosenblum about the relationship between marketing, sales training, and having liquid cash in your business.

Upgrading Your Business Mindset’s Mental Clarity

Cash confusion where it just feels like you're overthinking your plan. This stage feels very disorganized and reactionary. To calm the chaos, you can focus on your mental clarity in three key areas: emotional clarity, tactical clarity, and strategic clarity.

Upgrade your beliefs and your money story and start changing your identity to be your business owner. Now you can learn tactics such as a money system tracking revenue expenses. Upleveling requires a strategic side, particularly in thinking about the creation of consistent income each month.

Revolutionize how you look at your business and how you collect money for your business. And this works for everything. You know, coaches are a great example, but I mean, I remember coaching my massage therapy.

Take a step back and look at your business and ask yourself, "How can you work together for three or six months to achieve an outcome?" Now people are buying the outcome and results. You're not forced into bank balance decision-making and bank-bound stress based on when you happen to have money in your bank or not.

Listen in to find out the importance of paying yourself first in your business, why the messy middle of business can be tedious, and why you should access credit to grow your business.

In this episode, I dive into a positive business mindset with Belinda including:

  • Transforming an Employee Mindset to a CEO Mindset
  • Remove the Mindset that Money is Bad
  • The Messy Middle of Business

I’m excited to chat with Erika Tebbens, a kick-ass female business consultant who brings entrepreneurs to the next level. We chat about networking, following through and how to sell with integrity.

Making Connections to Make Sales

I noticed the most important aspect of coaching and online business, in general, is the lack of people making an effort to make connections. No one is teaching coaches how to sell.

Giving Value Away

Give value, but if you want to get paid and have a viable business, you must embrace the people you serve. You are amazing, and the people you are speaking to will value your service. This means allowing them to take advantage of an opportunity they are a good fit for and help them.

Coffee Chats to Talk Business

So many women enjoy live coffee chats because it's an easy, low-key way to talk about business. I've been in lots of coffee chats where I take control of the situation to focus our talk on how to make money, get referrals, or whatever the topic is at hand for that session. So many women don't focus on relationship building because many of them don't want to be pushy or seen as high pressure.

Listen in to find out how to build your self-confidence and why networking is important to build your business.

In this episode, I dive into how to create more sales, including:

  • Why you want feedback on your product or service
  • The importance of creating relationships when selling
  • How you can make connections and network
  • Why you want to network in-person

Steph Tuss is the CEO of the multimillion-dollar global coaching company Life Is Now, Inc. The company's mission is to help entrepreneurs, experts, and self-employed professionals gain the confidence and find the right mindset to increase their revenue, turning their endeavors into seven- and eight-figure ventures.

Prior to her work with Life Is Now, Steph was a school teacher turned entrepreneur who built and sold her first business by the age of 33. She has a passion for helping others create their vision mixed with solid business strategy nuts and bolts.

Finding Her First Business Mentor

Steph was following Allie Brown, and she was doing this program with David Nagel. "The first time I heard David speak and it was like an arrow right through my forehead. When you hear the truth, you know, that you're hearing the truth and I just couldn't get enough."

Hiring a coach, she felt that she needed a switch in her business. Selling her business to another practitioner in the area, Steph decided to move on to something new. David hired her to work in his company.

Giving Yourself Permission as a Female

Steph says about societal expectations on females, “It’s a huge lesson that's taught to girls. Make everybody happy and sacrifice yourself. What you want doesn't matter. Your worth is determined by how many people you can help and what you can do for other people.”

I see it all the time on sales calls. If women would give themselves permission to want what they want, but they're waiting for someone to give them permission. You need to give permission to yourself.

Listen in to find out how to climb the corporate ladder and how Steph navigates decision-making as CEO of her company.

In this episode, I dive into how to be an effective CEO, including:

  • Tips for hiring your sales team
  • Goal setting with your team for your company
  • How to create a work culture of safety
  • The importance of making mistakes
  • Why you need to take ultimate responsibility for what happens in your company
  • Giving yourself permission to say no to others and yes to yourself

Think of your PR campaign as a way of building rapport. When you start getting media attention, your expert status skyrockets - it just goes through the damn roof. Pre-qualifying your leads assists you in determining if you and the lead are a good fit. Will they pay your fees? Are they looking for the specific type of work that you offer? You don't want to waste your time on people who are not good fits, and pre-qualifying is a way to determine if the potential client will be a great client.

As a business owner, your time and money are extremely valuable. Don't waste it on people who don't resonate with what you are offering. Sometimes business owners aren't sure how to pre-qualify, or they don't have business boundaries in place, or they may not take their time seriously. We want to stop wasting time on leads that won't make you money.

There is a part of sales that comes with having experience, putting yourself in the situations, learning from those experiences. Once you have experience, you start getting a bit of intuition around sales and qualifying leads.
Listen in to find out how much time you should spend on pre-qualifying your leads, how to find leads and when to walk away from a lead.

In this episode, I dive into how to pre-qualify your incoming leads, including:

The amount of time you should spend qualifying a lead
Why networking for long amounts of time in large groups doesn’t work
When you should refer out a lead to another service
How to determine if a lead is a good client and good fit for your business

I joined the elite mind experience, the first cohort, with David Neagle. For the next 90 days, I feel that I completely rearranged my whole brain and identity.

Within 90 days, I had my first six-figure launch, and we finished significant infrastructure on the backend of the business to bring in passive income.

My team this week was talking about how easy it is to work with our procedures and systems in place. And the most unbelievable aspect of it all - I turned into a morning person!

"We target business owners because they have the most control over their income."

That's where David can be the most beneficial.

"I've worked with actors, actresses, politicians, doctors, psychiatry, attorneys, coaches and people that were actually doing something else before they decided to become a coach."

Part of what David teaches is teaching people how to think, which I believe has been, for me, the most life-changing game-changing thing I noticed in the last couple of weeks.

Listen in to find out how to use the Law of Attraction, why you want to take action to achieve your goals, and change your actions to change the cause and effect in your life.

In this episode, I dive into how universal laws affect you, including:

  • Changing Actions to Change Your Cause and Effect
  • Why Consistency is Key
  • The Law of Polarity
  • Perception and Intellect
  • How Thought Patterns become Habits
  • Religious Roadblocks to Becoming Successful
