Trauma can come from growing a successful business. I certainly experienced it last year.
In this episode I share my focus for 2023, how to make decisions that are good for you, and how we all can deal with the anxiety that comes from feeling overwhelmed when our businesses become successful.

When you go into sales and put yourself out there for your business, you're trying to collect money and create conversations. But, unfortunately, all your money mindset kicks in at this point, and it doesn't always help you in sales! And in addition to that, let's say you start hitting certain levels in your business and your life; all your money mindset and habits are going to come up and affect how you do business.
Last year I had my first six-figure month in the business! However, even though I had a successful month, many irrational fears around money started coming up, and then came the self-sabotaging behaviors (uh-oh!). I had to take six months to figure out what was happening.
I've come to learn through the help of a mentor that I had a lot of subconscious beliefs about money that were keeping me stuck and keeping me more diminutive than I wanted to be.
Now that I've had a year of processing, I've discovered what was going on in my money mindset and how I could change those negative beliefs into positive thinking regarding money. So here's what I did - and you can do it too - to change my thoughts and break through my glass ceiling!

I recently caught up with a colleague who also teaches women how to sell. We had an interesting conversation about how women are not going for the close or the money. They simply aren’t asking for the sale. So today we're gonna talk about closing a sale, what that means, and how to successfully close your sale as a female super saleswoman!
Many salespeople mistakenly believe they must send a proposal before closing. Usually if they want a proposal the sales call will end and you never hear from these people again, and poof! They disappear like Casper the Ghost!
We struggle with closing a sale because we don't know how to be assertive. Many of us have been conditioned to be codependent or manipulative and controlling. We have not learned how to be in the middle ground of getting what you need while also being a pleasant person with good values.

So many people are in a scarcity mindset, and that isn't where your head needs to be if you want to make money. If you're needy when you're selling, it's hard to make money. Being needy and making money mindsets don't match up. So let's talk about how you can be in an abundance mindset to sell more and increase your sales and profitability.
The energy of having to prove yourself and your point to win isn't part of the abundance mindset, and it won't work to make your sales. This sales pitch doesn't work with people sensitive to energy. Not only does it prevent you from selling, but it's also an automatic repulsion for many people. I can't even deal with it. I definitely don't wanna do business with you or your company.

Is the wounded feminine running your business and your life? If so, you'll want to listen to this episode because this is part I of our how to be a feminine business owner series (and still kick ass with sales).
The wounded feminine persona isn't about sex or gender; it's about the feminine energy both males and females have in their energy fields. Specific characteristics are some feminine and some masculine. So let's start here with some examples.
Even though both men and women can have male or female energy, women tend to have more feminine energy. Generally speaking, it's where we tend to feel good and more fulfilled.
Now for most of us, we have what is termed the injured feminine instinct. This came about when the patriarchy viewed femininity as dangerous or harmful, mainly because they feared our power (did you hear that, ladies, our POWER!) And if you think you have to wear a dress or put on makeup to be feminine, then you think of physical features, not energetically. Femininity isn't wearing a pretty dress or lipstick or having long lashes. Being feminine means you have feminine energy qualities such as being fun.
The injured feminine instinct does not serve us, so let's go to the whiteboard to talk about those behaviors, and you can determine whether or not you're being run by a wounded feminine instinct.

There's a lot of internet talk about feminine principles to run businesses, feminine leadership, and how to be more feminine in business. And there's also a lot of bad advice and confusion. So I'm going to be breaking down what feminine principles look like in business.
As a woman entrepreneur who primarily works with women, I've found that women are tired. They're tired of running around trying to build a business like a man. So they are looking for balance.
When you're getting a business off the ground and figuring out how to make money, many women believe they will have to learn more masculine qualities before they're ready to layer.
And when you see a whole bunch of marketing but can't close a sale, it may be because they're leaning too far into the feminine. For example, they may be waiting for people to come to them. But, unfortunately, sales don't necessarily work that way.
To make money in your company, you need both masculine and feminine traits, no matter if you're a biological male or female. Therefore, if you've gone too far into the masculine, you can find your own balance and bring it back to build a more sustainable platform or business with a better flow.

Let's say a lead reaches out to you in a DM on Instagram, and they really want to work with you and what you have to offer. So you get on the phone, and everything goes great.
But then They tell you to send an invoice, and you hear crickets because they don't pay. You find out later that they want to move the project back to next quarter or next year and that you should stay tuned. I've heard this scenario so many times, so I'm gonna teach you how to turn leads into clients.
Tip #1: Ask for the Sale
This may seem like a duh moment - No shit, you need to ask for the sale! However, you'd be surprised at how many women business owners I speak to every week who are not asking for money. Instead, they go through a sales call and wait for the lead or the prospect to take the lead.
Here's the thing - the lead is waiting for you to take the lead. You need to close the deal. The responsibility is on you to close. Give them payment plans, send them the invoice and ask for a credit card.

Why Spray and Pray Messaging Doesn't Work for Creating Sales
The spray and pray method pulls up a random list and sends everybody the same generic message. You can't do that if you want to close sales. With sales, you need to learn how to be strategic, so you don't waste your valuable time. Who is your target audience? Who do you need to talk to? Who do you help?
LinkedIn now has this cool feature called sales navigator, which helps you pull up specific target audience lists. So if you don't have a sales navigator account, I would recommend getting one because the search filters can pinpoint your target audience, so you can dial down to who you want to send your message to. Then you can customize a message based on your filters.
